People Are Making Choice For Cremating Over Traditional Burial
A traditional embalming and in-ground burial usually come to mind when burial services are discussed. They may have been the usual tradition for decades, but, the current trend is moving towards Funeral Cremation. One of the primary reasons for this is the reduced cost. Some people react negatively to this manner of disposal. But, the process of embalming a body is also an unpleasant proposition. It is now a matter of preference as to which disposition is chosen.
It is of primary importance to select a funeral director with a spotless reputation. The decedent must be treated respectfully during all the steps of the cremating procedure. A memorial service can include all the accoutrements of the one accompanying an in-ground burial.
In fact, the cremains, as the cremated remains are referred to, can be buried in a cemetery. The ashes may also be retained in a funerary urn. The family of the departed can also scatter the ashes in a place chosen by the decedent.
Depending on the wishes of the family, a church service, memorial service at the funeral home and a graveside service can still be held. In some cultures, the family will want to be present during the actual cremation. This can be accommodated in most cases.
A columbarium is an indoor or outdoor building with spaces to hold the cremains of multiple decedents. Each one has a plaque to identify the person interred within. The columbarium is located on cemetery grounds.
An urn can also be kept in the home of a family member. Sometimes more than one family member will want to keep those ashes. In those cases, smaller urns can be purchased to each hold a portion of the ashes. In this way, everyone is happy.
