Facts You Should Notice When Planning A Christian Memorial

When a Christian dies, it is believed to be the end of their life on earth, and the beginning of another life, either in heaven or hell. When a believer dies, friends and family normally hold a Christian funeral service, to celebrate the life the person lived while on earth. The prayers can either be held in a church or in a crematorium.

Choose a venue where the ceremony will be held. This can either be in a church, crematorium, private residence, or anywhere else that is convenient. You will also need to find a Pastor to officiate the ceremony. If the deceased was affiliated to any particular church, approach his Pastor first. If the deceased did not attend any particular church, ask for referrals from close friends about which church to use.

The ceremony usually begins by the minister welcoming attendees and giving a sermon. Scripture readings can be done by a close friend or family of the deceased. The main aim of the sermon is to celebrate the life of the deceased and to encourage the bereaved.

Give people an opportunity to present any personal poems or music. You can ask if there are any personal speakers who would like to say something special about the deceased person. Ensure that there is a photo or photos of the deceased present during the event.

The minister will then proceed to say prayers. Prayers of thanksgiving for the life of the deceased and for strength for his surviving friends and relatives are said. A final hymn can be sung and attendees given a moment for reflection.

Before the end of the Christian funeral service, make any required announcements. This is to give further guidance to the attendees about the next part of the program. You can let them know where the final resting place of the deceased will be. Prayers of final committal are made at the graveside as the coffin is lowered into the grave.
