Great Advices For Lowering Memorial Prices

Having a dignified send off for a loved one who has just died does not have to be an expensive venture. Organizing a memorial service can end up costing a lot if you do not make an effort to manage expenses. There are certain steps you can take to help you minimize funeral costs.

Even though organizing a burial can be hectic, it will be a lot cheaper if you opted to do it alone, with the help of family and friends rather than hire a funeral director. Nevertheless, if you feel that you need hired help, find a cheap option. Only pay for services that you actually need.

You should consider cremation. This is a low cost method of interment because it only involves buying a low cost coffin and having the body interred at a crematorium. There will be no need for a memorial service, viewing of the body or anything else. You must talk to family members to ensure that this is acceptable to all of them.

Buy a low cost coffin. You can buy something basic, but presentable. Shop around to and ask to see lower priced models. Alternatively, you can decide not to use a coffin at all and just use a shroud for burial.

Do not pay for expensive or extra vehicles and flowers if you do not have to. Use the available vehicles that friends and family are willing to offer. Also, instead of having guests bring flowers, ask them to make a donation instead that will go towards covering the cost of the burial.

Hiring a venue and an officiant for the memorial service can be expensive. Ask family and friends if they can provide a free venue where the ceremony can be held. Find an officiant who is not charging a lot of money for their services. To further lower funeral costs, have family members and friends act as pall bearers and also dig the grave.
