Details To Notice When Considering Commemorative Gardens

Memorial gardens are a perfect way to honor lost loved ones. They are beautiful places to sit and reflect, and remember those who have passed on to the next world. Be sure to take the time to plan and consider the space before beginning.

Give some consideration to the things the person being honored loved, and incorporate them into the garden. The space can be as large or small as people want. Be sure to consider cost. A lovely small area will likely be much nicer than a large neglected one.

Consider a place for people to sit. A nice bench or variety of benches will make an excellent choice. Including the favorite flowers and colors in this garden is a great way to remind people of their loved one. Most people associate certain smells with fond memories. If "grandma" for example, always had roses on the kitchen table, roses are sure to remind Grandma's loved ones of her. Including them in the garden is truly a wonderful idea.

As is the case with all gardens, make sure to keep larger plantings towards the back and shorter plants towards the front. This will create a more professional and comfortable area, where people are invited to sit. Some may even choose to plant trees and bushes in one section and flowers in a separate formal bed. It does not matter, as long as the end result is pleasing and reminds loved ones of the deceased loved one.

Make sure there is a source of water nearby. Otherwise maintaining plants will require water to be brought in from outside. This may result in a loss of many plants, especially during warmer seasons. Encourage visitors to take clippings as a reminder of the lost loved one. How lovely it is to have a living plant around the house or yard in tribute to someone we love but have lost.

Visit as often as possible and be sure to take good care of the space. Mow and prune regularly and prepare to have a sacred space that is a joy to all visitors.
