Values Of The Correct Funeral Clothes
Attending a memorial service is often a stressful event. Selecting the correct funeral clothes can help you to be less stressed while showing your respect for the individual who has passed. The right clothing allow you to be more comfortable at the event and if necessary, focus on your own grief.
Black is a good color for everyone. Women do well in either a dress or suit. The dark colors offer versatility while showing one's respect. It can offer a conservative, yet dressy option that speaks of the honor you are paying the individual. One should avoid splashy or loud colors. Grey and navy are good alternatives for those preferring a color other than black. The outfit should cover both the knees and shoulders. Shoes should be conservative as well as comfortable, especially if attending graveside services.
For men, a conservative suit is the best choice. Black, dark blue or grey offer the best color choices. Shirts should be crisp and have a white color. Your tie should be conservative and jewelry limited to your wedding band and a watch. In the winter, consider adding a dark trench coat.
Unless the service is for their immediate family member, leave younger children with a sitter. If older children and teens attend the service, their clothing should reflect that of the same sex parent. With preteens, the dress can be a little more casual.
Be sure to bring an umbrella if the service is scheduled out of doors. It is much more comfortable if you are dry. Place an extra handkerchief in your pocket for the day.
Select funeral clothes to show respect for individuals who have passed. Dark clothing is the best choice, with black the preferable color. Appropriate dress can also be comfortable. If there is a chance you will need to stand for an extended period, wear comfortable shoes.
