Funeral directors or homes may charge you quite a bit of money if you want them to assist you to write funeral programs. If you are on a tight budget and don't have the money to spend, you can write your own program. This will allow you to even add any personal touches you want. Decide what kind of information you want to include in the leaflet. Only include the most essential information, so as to keep the program simple and short. The information that is included should help people know more about the deceased, as well as provide guidance on how time will be used during the memorial and burial services.

Come up with a layout of the leaflet. The layout should be able to incorporate all the information and still look presentable. You can design your own using any design software you have or you can download ready made templates from the Internet.

Have at least one photo of the deceased person in the leaflet. Choose a quality photograph where the person was alone. Avoid group photographs which you may have to crop. You can edit the photo if necessary, if it is not in good condition.
