Basic Details To Expect When Planning A Christian Funeral

When a Christian dies, it is believed to be the end of their life on earth, and the beginning of another life, either in heaven or hell. When a believer dies, friends and family normally hold a Christian funeral service, to celebrate the life the person lived while on earth. The prayers can either be held in a church or in a crematorium.

Choose a church and a minister who will preside over the prayers. If the deceased was a member of a particular church, then that would be the first place to make inquiries. Find out if the church is willing to be involved in the burial process. If the deceased was not a member of any church, then ask for recommendations from the funeral home or friends and family on which church and minister to approach to officiate the ceremony.

During the ceremony, the Pastor will welcome the attendees. He will then proceed to give a sermon, drawn from the bible. You can get one of the deceased's friends or relatives to do the bible readings.

Special songs and poems can be performed. Organize this with the presenters beforehand. Also, allow time for a eulogy to be given by a close friend or family member. This is to provide an overview of the life of the deceased. Having the most recent photo of the deceased during the ceremony is advisable.

The pastor will then proceed to close the ceremony by praying for the bereaved and to give thanks for the life of the deceased. The congregation can then proceed to sing a hymn or hymns as the coffin is carried out. The attendees can be given a few moments to think about the life of the individual at the end of the ceremony.

Before the conclusion of the Christian funeral service, inform attendees of what is expected of them. Provide important details such as the events that are to take place next. Let them know the venue and date of the burial.
