Facts To Notice When Drafting Condolences Words

One of the ways you can provide support to a friend who has lost their loved one is by writing them a note to let them know that you are there for them. Writing condolences messages can be quite tricky for most people. However, by keeping in mind a couple of things, you should be able to come up with a proper note.

Start the note by acknowledging the loss that your friend has suffered and how saddened you were by the news. Express your sympathy about their loss. You should refer to the deceased by name. If you knew the deceased, you can make a nice remark about them.

Include some memories of the deceased person. Mention positive memories rather than negative ones. If you had never interacted with the person before but you had had your friend talk fondly about them, refer to the stories your friend shared with you. This will mean a lot to the bereaved to know that their loved one was loved by others.

Be simple and go straight to the point. No need to try and come up with something fancy like a poem or special message. A heartfelt note will be appreciated more. Since the recipient may get many notes during this time, they may not have the time to read through a long message.

You can offer the bereaved help. Be specific about what you can do for the recipient, instead of offering generalized help. You can conclude your letter by a thoughtful expression. This includes letting them know that they are thinking and praying for them. Visiting the bereaved personally will make a big difference, instead of just posting the letter.

Sympathy notes should be written and sent as soon as possible after the loss. If you can, hand write the note instead of typing it out. This gives it a more personal touch. If you had bought a sympathy card from the store, add a personal note to it and include it in the card.
